The ability to scan books or chapters depends on the specific material. In some cases, scanning selected chapters may be appropriate, but instructors must obtain their own scans. KSL staff do not provide scanned copies but can offer basic instructions for using library scanners.

Copyright law and the principle of Fair Use may limit the ability to scan entire books. Research Services Librarians can advise instructors on copyright and Fair Use guidelines.

KSL cannot always provide access to required course texts. Instructors may need to direct students to obtain their own copies through borrowing, renting, or purchasing.
